Monthly Budgets

Budgeting is key if you want to win with money.  You need to know where your money is going, if you don’t track it and tell it where to go, then it tends to grow legs and walk right out the door…trust me I know, I’ve seen it!  If I can recall, I have even seen those greenbacks sprout wings and fly right out the window or maybe that was one to many craft beers!

I will use this page to track our monthly expenses as a percentage of our net income (take home pay).  I decided to use percentages instead of actual $ amounts because I don’t think you need to know exactly what we make, plus when I told my wife I wanted to share our income and expenses, she gave me the death look, guys if you are married you know the one I am talking about!  The link will take you to the full post and the percentage is our savings rate for the month.

January – Savings Rate 25%

February – Savings Rate 32%

March – Savings Rate 49%

April – Savings Rate 8%

May – Savings Rate 21%

June – Savings Rate 26%

July – Savings Rate 13%

August – Savings Rate 18%

September – Savings Rate 6%

October – Savings Rate 33.5%

November – Savings Rate 29%

December – Savings Rate 37%

Did you stop updating with the monthly budgets – or is it some backlog.. 😉

I got behind on them because we had connection issues with our main account we use and Mint, which we use to track everything. All is well now, I just posted June and July yesterday and I’ll try to get August and September written up this weekend. Thanks for asking and following along!
